ON LOCATION

A Nun And An Officer

A Nun And An Officer is set in the Western Balkans from 1934 to 1956. The story begins at a convent nestled somewhere in the Dinaric Alps, also known as the Dinarides. The mountain range runs from Italy in the northwest to Albania in the southeast. They are one of the most rugged mountains in Europe as the southern extension of the Swiss Alps.

In the heart of this mountain range down in a valley is the town of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Famous for the Stari Most Bridge over the Neretva River, the town is at the crossroads of three distinct religous cultures: Christianity, Orthodox and Muslim. In our story, this beautiful bridge represents the link between opposites and the crossings from one side to another.
